We are delighted to annouce that registration is now open for the Transmedia Earth Conference: Global Convergence Cultures. The conference aims tointernationalise both the study and the practice of transmediality by providing a global platform for showcasing and exploring the many manifestations of contemporary and historical transmediality around the world. The Transmedia Earth Conference is a collaboration between the Media Convergence Research Centre <https://www.bathspa.ac.uk/liberal-arts/research/media-convergence-research-centre/> at Bath Spa University, the Department of Social Communication <http://www.eafit.edu.co/escuelas/humanidades/departamento-comunicacion-social/Paginas/inicio.aspx> at EAFIT University, the Centre for the Study of Journalism, Culture and Community <https://research.bournemouth.ac.uk/centre/journalism-culture-and-community/> at Bournemouth University, and the Konekto Research Group <http://urecerca.uvic.cat/CawDOS/jsf/seleccionPersonalEstamento/seleccionPersonal.jsf?id=193359a4c6398bcb&idioma=en&tipo=grupo&elmeucv=N> at the University of Vic – Central University of Catalonia.

The inaugural 2017 conference – hosted by EAFIT University in Colombia – seeks to map emerging understandings of transmediality and global convergence cultures, and includes speakers from the USA, Italy, China, Brazil, Turkey, Argentina, Colombia, Russia, UK, Ireland, Australia, Mexico, Spain, Portugal, France, Panama and Estonia. Featuring a mix of international keynote speakers and roundtables, there will be panels devoted to: Transmedia Creation and Design: Transmedia Audiences and Fandoms; Transmedia Practices, Platforms and Genres; and Transmedia Literacies and Education. There will also be a launch event for the Transmedia: Participatory Culture and Media Convergence <http://en.aup.nl/series/transmedia> book series at Amsterdam University Press, introduced by Dan Hassler-Forest.
