This year we have witnessed globally rising nationalism and right-wing 
ideology from the US and throughout Europe. Notable events like Brexit 
vote and election of Donald Trump for American president have marked a 
new era. In this special issue we invite short journalist-style 
contributions of up to 2000 words that would contribute to discussion 
about the consequences of current socio-political changes on academia, 
education and research.

This special *debate issue *invites contributions around, but not 
limited to, the following topics:

Roots of the problem:

·Examinations of the roots and impact of current changes, including 
issues related to political movements, role of media, economic downturn, 
Western imperialism, EU crisis, poverty, propaganda, and special interests.

·Debate on the Brexit/Trump vote consequences on sustainability of the 
university system and the future of academia, intellectualism, students 
and alumni.

·Personal accounts of academics working at foreign higher education 
institutions and how the current socio-political situation affects their 
daily work, life and future plans.

A way forward:

·Post-Brexit/Trump academic manifesto

·Programme proposal on how to deal with the rise of anti-semitism, 
nationalism, racism, right-wing ideology, privatization of public 
services and education, the growing refugee crisis, etc.

·The role of academics in influencing policy makers, creating a 
progressive future, and challenging negative trends from bottom up

·Who is considered an expert in a post-Brexit world? Are people really 
“tired of hearing what experts have to say” – Jeremy Hunt

We encourage *any traditional and creative forms of submission*: 
articles, debates, interviews, manifestos, personal accounts, programme 
proposals, posters, etc.

Tamara is an ABS-indexed journal which draws on critical management 
studies, postmodern organization theory, and social systems theory. 
Tamara has its roots in critical storytelling and is a prime address for

The journal encourages interdisciplinary dialogue on contemporary 
research methods, as well as theories of present and future 
organizations and societies.**
