[ecrea] 2nd Media Democracy Festival in London, 10th December 2016

This year’s Media Democracy Festival brings together a range of 
academics, journalists and activists to discuss urgent media reform 
issues, plan actions and build the burgeoning media democracy movement 
in the UK.

Speakers include *John Pilger *(journalist and film-maker), *Professor 
Annabelle Sreberny* (SOAS), *Peter Jukes* (playwrite, journalist and 
author of /The Fall of the House of Murdoch/), *Kerry-Anne Mendoza* 
(editor-in-chief of The Canary), *Professor Natalie Fenton *(Goldsmiths) 
and *Brian Cathcart* (co-founder of Hacked Off).

Session topics range from racism and misogyny in the media to the future 
of the BBC. The festival takes place at the Clore Management Centre, 
Birkbeck 25-27 Torrington Square, London, WC1E 7JL, from 10am to 5pm on 
Saturday 10^th December. Entrance free but places very limited and
