[ecrea] Media Across Ages - Ph.D. course
Fri Aug 12 12:21:57 GMT 2016
*Media Across Ages, Platforms and Borders: New Theories - New Methods?*
Ph.d. course at the Graduate School, Arts at Aarhus University
October 11.-13. 2016**
Deadline for application September 16. 2016
Media practices are often - in research as well as in everyday
discourses - seen as related to specific age groups. As media and
technology in a wide range of ways are more and more intertwined with
the fabric of our everyday lives throughout the life course, these
boundaries are also challenged; empirically as well as theoretically and
methodologically.
The aim of this PhD course is to provide different perspectives for
developing theoretical and methodological approaches to the study of
media in a life-course perspective. This PhD course will explore
cultural, social, historical, technological and temporal understandings
of the multiple and complex ways in which people engage with and make
use of different media types and technologies over the course of life.
Lecturers: Charles Ess, Stine Liv Johansen, Thomas Bjørner, Sara Mosberg
Iversen, Maja Sonne Damkjær and Cecilie Givskov
