*Early Career Researcher Fellowships (DECRA) leading to ongoing
positions in Public Communication at UTS *
**
The Australian Research Council (ARC) annually awards three-year
/Discovery Early Career Researcher Awards/(DECRAs) to create
opportunities for early career researchers to develop their research
careers.
The University of Technology Sydney (UTS) seeks to support outstanding
ECR applicants in the area of Public Communication and will offer
ongoing teaching-research positions at the end of the fellowship to
successful applicants. The University will help successful
non-Australian applicants to organise the appropriate visa.
UTS has an outstanding track record in media and communication research,
ranking44^th in the world for media and communication in the 2014 QS
rankings and scoring "above world standard" in the 2012 Excellence in
Research for Australia (ERA) round in this field.
In particular, UTS seeks early career researchers with expertise in
government, political, corporate or marketing communication with a focus
on two-way communication and engagement, and an interest in evaluation
of public communication to identify effectiveness in achieving
organisational and societal outcomes.
Successful candidates will work with Professor Jim Macnamara, who leads
a series of externally funded research projects in these areas. If you
are interested in exploring the possibility of applying for one of these
awards, in first instance please e-mail your CV to
(jim.macnamara /at/ uts.edu.au) <mailto:(jim.macnamara /at/ uts.edu.au)> by the 13^th
November 2015.
*Terms and conditions*
To be eligible for a DECRA, applicants must have been awarded a PhD in
the previous five years (or longer if combined with periods of
significant career interruption). See Funding Rules
<http://www.arc.gov.au/funding-rules>and FAQs
<http://www.arc.gov.au/instructions-and-faqs>for detailed information.
As a general guideline, to be competitive for one of these awards a
