Assistant Professor of Strategic Communication at Bridgewater State 
University

The Department of Communication Studies at Bridgewater State University 
is seeking a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Strategic 
Communication. The successful candidate will teach four courses per 
semester to undergraduates in the department's Strategic Communication 
concentration, which comprises public relations and organizational 
communication. The successful candidate will have college teaching 
experience with a specialization in public relations, with particular 
interest and expertise in developing and integrating social media theory 
and practice into the curriculum. Additionally the candidate should 
expect to teach a variety of courses from across the public relations 
curriculum including writing, research, and campaign development, and 
core curriculum classes. In addition to teaching, the appointee will 
also be expected to engage in research, curriculum development, the 
advising and mentoring of students, and service to the university and 
its community.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Communication or a related discipline 
by September 2016. Applicants should be committed to public higher 
education and to working with students from diverse backgrounds and with 
diverse learning styles. They should also have an ability to use 
technology effectively in teaching and learning, and to work in a highly 
collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Professional experience in public relations is preferred. Demonstration 
of a professional, teaching, and/or research commitment to diversity, 
including global culture, and social justice is preferred.
