*Tenure-Track Assistant Professorship in Media and Culture at Stanford*

The Department of Communication at Stanford University invites
applications for a tenure-track faculty appointment in Communication
focusing on the study of media and culture. We are interested in a range
of possible subfields, including but not limited to new media's
relationship to the representation of individual and collective
identity; media and globalization; algorithm and platform studies; and
the analysis of media institutions as cultural forces. The ideal
candidate will also bring strong methodological skills in areas that
might include ethnography, critical theory, and textual/discourse
analysis, or the digital humanities.

The appointment will be made at the Assistant Professor rank. The
successful applicant must hold a PhD in Communication or another
relevant discipline by September 1, 2016. The successful candidate will
be expected to teach courses in Communication at both the graduate and
undergraduate levels.Â
