The Department of Journalism & Electronic Media in the College of Media
& Communication at Texas Tech University seeks an assistant professor to
join its tenure-track faculty. We seek a colleague who can contribute to
the Colleges M.A. and Ph.D. programs. Required qualifications include
skills and/or scholarship in one of four areas: transmedia storytelling
and interactivity; cinematography & production design; electronic media
production and entrepreneurship; and/or social media theory, design, and
functionality. Successful candidates are expected to be effective
teachers and productive researchers while being engaged in service
activities for the college, the university, and the professional
communities. The appointee is encouraged to apply for external funding
to support research endeavors. Preference will be given to those with
research programs demonstrating potential for publications in refereed
journals. The position will require teaching courses in the Department
of Journalism & Electronic Media, publishing in peer-reviewed
publications, participating as a member of professional organizations,
and serving on college and university committees. Candidates with a
completed Ph.D. degree and teaching experience are preferred, but
advanced ABDs with strong potential for scholarly productivity and
effective teaching will be considered.
