The successful candidate should have a PhD in the Social Sciences,
preferably on the Media and Communication sector. Also should have a
deep understanding and interest on the African context, in connection
with issues such as media regulation, freedom of speech, cyber activism
and possibilities for democracy, new media applications for
social/political progress, new media and individual / social / cultural
identity with at least 4 years full-time postgraduate research
experience or a doctoral degree in the field of the Social Sciences,
with the specialisation on the impact of immigration process in Europe.
Previous research on immigrant´s integration through intercultural
dialogue, as well as the work with the media, supported by articles and
other publications will be an asset. The candidate should have a solid
background on quantitative and qualitative research techniques applied
to the Social Sciences. He/she should be familiar with SPSS package to
process research results.
