[Commlist] New Position: Lecturer/Senior Lecturer, Media at RMIT (4yr contract)

We are searching for a new Lecturer/Senior Lecturer to join the Media program at RMIT University (Melbourne) on a 4-year fixed-term contract. This is a teaching + research role, ideal for someone with a creative media practice and plenty of experience guiding students through the making of media projects that span multiple platforms and storytelling modes.

PhD required. Given this is a 4-yr contact, we aim to prioritise applicants with working rights in Australia.

Overview:

  * Full time, 4 year Fixed term position commencing January 2025
  * Salary Academic Level B ($109,770 - $130,355) / Level C ($134,469 -
    $155,057) + 17% Superannuation
  * Based at the Melbourne CBD campus

About the Role

The Lecturer/Senior Lecturer, Media is expected to contribute to teaching and research in the discipline of Media Production across a range of platforms in the School of Media and Communication. You will teach into the undergraduate and postgraduate coursework programs and will also be responsible for maintaining and advancing scholarship, research and industry relationships in the field.

You will be expected to work collaboratively and collegially with fellow academics in the two Media programs, undertaking associated duties such as academic advising and student selection. You will be responsible for coordinating courses, potentially supervising postgraduate candidates, and will contribute to the development of the program.
