Are you an academic with proven abilities to carry out research and
teaching in journalism and media? Do you have experience teaching
journalism studies to undergraduate and postgraduate students? Are you
passionate about delivering an exceptional student experience in a
research-intensive Russell Group University?
The School of Media and Communication at the University of Leeds is a
highly ranked department with a commitment to excellence in both
research and teaching. We are ranked in 7^th in the UK for
Communication and Media Studies (Complete University Guide 2024) and
23^rd in the world for Communication and Media Studies (QS World
University Rankings by Subject 2023). In the 2021 Research Excellence
Framework 87% of our research judged to be either ‘world leading’ or
‘internationally excellent’.
The successful candidate will be expected to enhance the School’s
research and teaching activities in journalism and work with colleagues
to develop our international profile and standing. Applications are
welcome from candidates whose research explores any aspect of journalism
studies, and whose work complements or contributes to the School’s
existing research strengths in media industries and cultural production;
journalism; political communication; global communication; visual media
and communication; digital cultures; or gender, race and media.
