The Program in Film and Media Studies at Yale University seeks to hire a
tenure-track Assistant Professor of Comparative Television Culture,
beginning July 1, 2024. The successful applicant should be a scholar
with expertise in two or more television cultures, at least one of them
non-Anglophone, and should be able to teach the history of television
from broadcasting to digital streaming. We welcome applications from
scholars with a secondary focus in areas such as race and ethnicity,
gender and sexuality, class and national identity, comparative arts,
infrastructure, creative industries, diaspora and migration, internet
culture, sound, and area studies. ____

The appointee must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree or have completed
all requirements for the Ph.D. by June 2024. Fluency in the languages
most relevant to the appointee’s specialized areas of research is
expected.____
