*Job description**
*As senior lecturer in Media and Communication Studies, you will 
normally work with education, research and development, even if the 
emphasis on different duties can vary. Research duties include your 
conducting your own research, applications for research funding, 
external collaboration and active participation in the academic 
community. Duties in education may include the development and 
implementation of education from Bachelor’s level to doctoral level, 
external collaboration and the supervision and examination of students 
and doctoral students. A senior lecturer may also have management duties 
and/or administrative tasks. Teaching on Teacher Education courses may 
be part of the position. Teaching in Media and Communication Studies is 
mainly done in Swedish, but some teaching is done in English.

*Qualifications**
*You are qualified for employment as a senior lecturer in Media and 
Communication Studies if you have demonstrated educational expertise, 
and been awarded a doctoral degree in Media and Communication Studies or 
have the equivalent research competence. You must have completed a 
course in higher education pedagogy worth at least 7.5 credits or have 
the equivalent competence. You must otherwise have the personal skills 
necessary to do their job well and to represent the university in a way 
that benefits its activities. For this position, you must be able to 
teach in English.

*Research expertise *is demonstrated through scholarly publications in 
the relevant subject area, participation in research projects, research 
collaborations, external collaborations, contributions to the 
development of the subject, and through assignments as an external 
expert, editor or similar.

*Teaching expertise *is demonstrated through high quality teaching of 
considerable scope in the relevant subject, participation in educational 
development work, a self-reflective approach to students’ learning and 
experiences and your own role as teacher, initiatives in external 
collaboration, establishing links between research and higher education, 
and course development.

*Grounds for assessment**
*The assessment criteria for appointment as a senior lecturer are the 
levels of expertise required as qualification for employment.  For this 
position, research and teaching expertise are of equal importance. The 
following grounds for assessment have been established for this position 
(in order of importance): The below items must be documented.

  * Research and teaching expertise relevant to the subject’s focus as
    described above.
  * The ability to conduct teaching in Swedish and English.
  * Good cooperation skills
  * Administrative skills.
