PhD Scholarship opportunity

The Department of the Arts at the University of Bologna welcomes 
applications for one full-time PhD scholarship as part of the Research 
Project /PRIN - The Atlas of Italian “Giallo”. Media history and popular 
culture (1954-2020)/. Candidates should be trained in the following 
research areas:

  * Media and Cultural Studies
  * Film and Television Studies
  * Literary Studies
  * Italian Studies

The scholarship will be awarded to the best candidate following the 
application and interview selection process. Preference will be given to 
research proposals that focus on:

  * the cultural identity of Italian giallo
  * the relationship between the literary giallo and Italian tv crime 
series
  * the forms, contents, figures and themes of the Italian giallo, both
    in literature and television
  * the media history of Italian giallo
  * the cultural heritage of Italian giallo
