The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication invites applications for a non-tenure track Assistant/Associate Professor in Integrated Marketing Communication. A PhD in this or relevant discipline is required.

The candidate will teach courses in the IMC undergraduate program; the candidate may also teach at the graduate level.

Teaching responsibilities will include courses in digital and emerging media in integrated marketing communication, media analytics, media planning, consumer buyer behavior, and strategic messaging and media.

Teaching responsibilities will include courses principles of advertising and integrated marketing communication, advertising agency operations, consumer buyer behavior, copywriting and media planning.

The candidate may be expected to engage in scholarly research and contribute to program development.

The candidate will also be expected to actively participate in student advising, and department, school and university service. Demonstration of potential for excellence in teaching, scholarship, and commitment to undergraduate and/or graduate education is expected.

Requirements:

Proficient professional/research expertise in the Integrated Marketing Communication or relevant field. Other required qualifications include a strong command of Digital and Social Media Marketing skills (data analysis, brand awareness, content creation, online product management, digital marketing strategies, mobile advertising, and etc.)

The Candidate must have a proven strong relevant university-level academic and teaching record; PhD required.

The Journalism and Mass Communication Department (JRMC) is the largest department in the School of Global Affairs and Public Policy, serving approximately 600 major and minor students with close to 30 full and adjunct faculty members.

The department offers majors in Multimedia Journalism, Communication and Media Arts, Integrated Market Communication, as well as minors in Journalism and Mass Communication, and Arabic Writing and Reporting. The Department also offers a Master's Degree in Journalism and Mass Communication.

We are dedicated to excellence in undergraduate and graduate academic and professional education, and we are committed to providing students with the relevant interdisciplinary experiences needed in the local and global markets.

The Department's facilities include digital production and news studios, new media production labs, state of the art editing suites, high definition television studios, a professional standard radio station, a photographic exhibition gallery and a prominent student newspaper.
