*three-year PhD opportunity, researching online conspiracy-theories*


  We are looking for a PhD student at the SciComm division of the
  Department of Communication and Media Research at the University of
  Zurich, Switzerland. The PhD student will work in an international
  research project led by Prof Mike S. Schäfer and Dr Jing Zeng,
  researching science-related conspiracy theories on digital platforms.

*What would you have to do?*

  • Conduct research on online conspiracy theories

• Pursue your PhD

• Attend conferences and publish


*What should you bring with you? *

• Master’s degree in communication science or a related subject

• Experience with/interest in science communication and researching social media and conspiracy theories

• Experience with computational methods, e.g. using R and/or Python for text and network analyses.

• Proficiency in German (sufficient to conduct qualitative interviews and text/document analyses in German, C1)
