Mon Nov 11 00:07:51 GMT 2019

We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Film Studies to join our department, which is committed to delivering excellence in research, teaching, and public engagement. The successful candidate should demonstrate: evidence of outstanding research that complements departmental strengths; a commitment to excellence in teaching; the ability to take on significant administrative roles; and the initiative, innovation, and range to support the department in public engagement and student activities.

Adopting a wide range of methods and a global perspective, our department explores the role of audio-visual media in shaping societies and selves with attention to past practices and the development and potential of moving image media today. We encourage applications from those working on film, media, and screen cultures within the Global South, but are considering all applications and areas.

These interests contribute to our scholarship, our teaching, and a thriving research culture we work to deliver, which includes a speaker series, the Centre for Screen Cultures (chttps://screenculture.wp.st-andrews.ac.uk/), the Institute for Global Cinema and Creative Cultures (IGCCC), the Postgraduate publication /Frames//Cinema//Journal///(https://framescinemajournal.com/) film screenings, artist visits, and the 60-Hour Film Blitz.
