München* seeks a
*Research Assistant (Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter; m/w/d)*
*in the field of Digital Journalism*
*(pay group 13 TVöD)*
The position is part-time (19,5 h/week) for a limited period of three
years and will begin immediately.
The position is closely linked to the research and teaching activities
of the associated professorship in journalism studies (specifically
digital journalism). Research will focus on the digital transformation
of public service media from a comparative perspective as well as on
teaching and research in the field of data journalism and empirical methods.
*Requirements*
A master’s degree in communication science, journalism studies or a
related social-sciences field is required. In the latter case, evidence
of course work in communication science or journalism studies must be
shown. Of central importance are relevant experiences in empirical research.
In addition to sound scientific knowledge of research on (digital)
journalism, applicants are expected to have good knowledge of empirical
methods. Very good knowledge of English and German is required.
Knowledge of research on public service media, comparative research and
computational methods is preferred. Organisational skills and social
competences are also expected.
The position is suitable for a doctoral thesis.

-Independent and responsible collaboration in the initiation and
implementation of research projects in the field of journalism research
-Support of teaching activities through participation in academic
teaching and supervision of empirical projects
