 The Department of Culture, Media and Creative Industries (CMCI) seeks 
to appoint a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to assist with the 
successful conduct and completion of a major new EU funded 3-years 
project, entitled “Developing Inclusive & Sustainable Creative 
Economies”. The project, which involves a consortia of EU partners, aims 
to investigate the role of Creative and Cultural Industries (CCIs) as 
contributors to 'growth', quality employment, economic competitiveness 
and social cohesion, and to address key questions of cultural 
opportunity, including issues of cultural connectivity and care.

The UK team are specifically interested in addressing the following: to 
1) gain a better understanding of career perspectives, challenges and 
training needs of current and future creative workers; 2) explore 
inequality and exclusion in the CCIs; 3) provide a new framework through 
which to examine and support the role of the CCIs in processes of 
'inclusive and sustainable growth', understood not only as contribution 
to GDP but also as cultural development and human flourishing. The 
Postdoctoral Researcher will lead on fieldwork and data collection in 
UK, as well as contribute to international workshops, reports, policy 
briefings, and stakeholder engagement. The ideal candidate will have 
sound knowledge and experience working with qualitative methods, but 
also a good understanding and working knowledge of quantitative data and 
frameworks. They will need excellent organisational skills to coordinate 
the fieldwork and project activities, as well as an interest in working 
collaboratively and internationally.

This full time post will be offered on a fixed-term contract until 31 
December 2021.

The selection process will include a presentation and a panel interview.
