Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB) is seeking candidates for a
full-time lecturer position in the area of communication studies, with
experience in one or several of the following topics:
- corporate communication
- marketing
- advertising
- e-communication
- digital marketing
- data marketing
- cultural marketing
- project and team management
- communication measurement and evaluation (including quantitative methods)
- corporate management
- managerial culture
- consumer behavior.

Required Qualifications : PhD Degree (with doctoral thesis), preferably
in information and communication
Required Skills :
- A minimum of 4-year scientific career at the time of hiring
- Postdoctoral experience and an excellent scientific record
- A stay abroad in an academic institution other that the one in which
the doctoral studies were undertaken is a criterion that will be taken
into account in the file. This can be during or after the doctoral studies.
- For non-French speaking natives (level C1 is required), a learning
period may be granted, but candidates must be capable of teaching in
French at the end of the third year following their appointment.
Candidates will have in-depth knowledge of the changes and challenges in
the field of communication, as shown by their academic achievements and
publication records. They must have teaching experience in higher
education and/or at university level, and show excellent pedagogical
skills. They will display a sense of initiative and entrepreneurial
skills, along with team spirit. They must be able to coordinate
pedagogical activities aimed at a high number of students, while
managing and developing courses and programs. Professional experience in
the field of communication is an asset.
In addition, candidates must have:
- A minimum of 4-year scientific career at the time of appointment;
- A post-doctoral experience and an excellent scientific record.

1. ? Description of Position :
The successful candidate will develop teaching and research in corporate
communication or in one of the following domains: marketing,
e-communication, digital marketing, data marketing, cultural marketing,
project and team management, communication measurement and evaluation
(including quantitative methods), corporate management, managerial
culture, consumer behavior.
The activities and research projects of the successful candidate will
fit in within the activities of the Research Center in Information and
Communication Sciences (ReSIC) within which he/she will contribute to
the development of a research team specialized in the above-mentioned
domains.
In teaching as well as research, the successful candidate will combine
theoretical approaches with real-world practices. Courses will be taught
at Bachelor and Master’s levels. The successful candidate will display
leadership skills, including in coordinating the Bachelor in Information
and Communication and/or the Master degrees in Communication.
The successful candidate will be invited to apply for a grant from the
European Research Council (ERC) and for any sources of outside funding
(FNRS, Europe, Regional funds, etc…) enabling them to develop their
research. The ULB Research Department will assist with applications.
? Description of Scientific and Pedagogical Objectives:
The successful candidate is expected to develop teaching and research in
the area of organizational communication and in the domains mentioned
above. He or she will have to supervise Master as well as doctoral theses.

? Teaching duties at the time of hiring :
The successful candidate will be in charge of a number of courses in the
Bachelor in Information and Communication and the Master degrees in
Communication. He or she will be invited to create new courses in
relation with their research topics.

- a report of around 3500 signs on the candidate’s research activities

- a report of about 3500 signs on the candidate’s previous teaching
activities and a project describing their teaching mission during the 5
years following their appointment, that integrates, in a coherent
manner, into the vision of the unit in which the candidate will be
working and the educational profiles of the programmes on which the
candidate will be teaching.
- a note on international projects and achievements
- please provide full names and email addresses for five referees who
may be contacted by the university bodies responsible of evaluating
candidate applications. We ask that you be mindful of providing a
balanced gender divide between referees and ensure that they have no
conflict of interest.
