Norwich University of the Arts (NUA) is a successful specialist
university, offering high-quality education at undergraduate and
postgraduate levels. Ourdynamic, contemporary and creative provision of
arts, design, architecture and media courses is delivered from a unique
campus in the heart of Norwich. Graduate employability, student
satisfaction and research are key factors in our acknowledged success
and national profile.
Recently, NUA was named as the outright winner of the Excellence and
Innovation in the Arts section of the Times Higher Education Awards and
has been top in successive National Student Surveys from 2013 to 2015.
NUA is a leading contributor to the cultural and economic life of the
city and country, and a distinctive, high-quality specialist university
providing the future workforce for the creative industries.
We are looking for a suitably qualified candidate, experienced in Nuke
software, who will be able tocontribute to the further development and
ambition of the BA (Hons) VFX programme. The main emphasis of this new
role will be to provide additional support, assisting in the delivery of
practical 2D and 3D VFX compositing tuition. The course is centred
around concepts of World Building and the Photoreal, so experience of
Lens-based image acquisition and integration is especially advantageous.
Having a broad view of the applications of VFX software and practices
beyond Film would be an advantage, as students explore Film, TV,
Arch-Viz and visualization destinations as part of their studies.
The successful applicant will be able to evidence industry experience
and be able to demonstrate they have the teaching experience or an
ability to communicate often technical concepts, especially advance Nuke
software training, to creative practitioners with the ability to use and
develop innovative learning and teaching strategies. The role requires
good organisation and team working skills, commitment to enhancing the
student experience and ability to clearly communicate the relationship
between professional practice and course curriculum to promote student
employability.
