[ecrea] Research position in Media and Communication

Thu Sep 24 08:22:37 GMT 2015

This is a fantastic opportunity for scholars in ANY area of media and
communication research, in a thriving School of Media in a leading
English university. https://jobs.leeds.ac.uk/vacancy.aspx?ref=PVMCM1013

The post is similar to a tenure-track position in that, after successful
completion of a 5 year development programme, the post-holder will be
promoted to Associate Professor (earlier if promotion criteria are met).
Unlike a typical tenure-track position, the post will be mostly
research-based at first, with the post-holder contributing more to
teaching and administrative responsibilities over time. The aim is to
appoint a strong early career researcher and provide support for them to
develop their publication and funding profile, allowing a gradual build
up to a more typical research/teaching/admin split for a
research-intensive university. We’re looking for applicants who already
have a record of strong publications (in high quality journals) and
funding success, but we’re open in terms of area as long as there is a
fit with the School. We expect the academic plan to map out objectives
related to research trajectory as well as teaching and admin
development. All relevant further details can be found via the link above.
