After all that marking, wouldn't it be great to be given lots of time
for research in a top-rated centre? Now's your chance! You have until 2
July to apply for the VC2020 Lectureship in the Cinema and Television
History (CATH) Research Centre at De Montfort University.

With a strong research focus and an eye on REF 2020, this post seeks
student-focused individuals passionate about education and academic
progress to make an excellent research contribution to the university in
the area of Cinema and Television History. The post enables individuals
to grow and develop in their area of expertise in a fully supported
research environment, with access to funding and development to enable
them to progress along a research trajectory.

You will be part of the Cinema and Television History (CATH) Research
Centre at DMU, rated number one in the UK for world-leading outputs in
REF2014 and joint first for 3 and 4 star impact. The CATH Centre is
currently home to three major AHRC and Leverhulme funded research
projects, the Hammer Script Archive and the Sir Norman Wisdom
Collection, and over 30 researchers.

Significantly, as a VC2020 Lecturer, 50 percent of this position will be
designated solely for research and the successful candidate will have
existing quantifiable research outputs and/or a solid research plan
leading up to REF 2020. The role holder will also play an active part in
developing capacity and capability for external income generation and
external partnerships.
The role is one of several new academic posts aligned strategically to
the new Leicester Media School. The Leicester Media School is a vibrant
academic community which includes 30 degree programmes and 1,700
students, and over 60 PhD students, incorporating 3 subjects groups with
this post situated in the Media, Film and Journalism group.
