Research at DCRC <http://dcrc.org.uk> seeks to create new knowledge
about creative media applications in real world contexts, and about
everyday life in today’s digital media ecology. Centre researchers
pursue a dynamic interdisciplinary agenda through a unique mix of
criticality, creativity and application.
The DCRC is a leading centre for research into interactive and
participatory documentary and home to the i-Docs Symposium
<http://i-docs.org> and community. The Centre hosts the AHRC Creative
Territories Video Games Research Network
<http://creativeterritories.dcrc.org.uk/> and is publisher of the
Pervasive Media Cookbook. <http://pervasivemediacookbook.com/>
DCRC is a partner in the west of England’s leading media innovation lab,
The Pervasive Media Studio <http://www.watershed.co.uk/pmstudio/> and is
located in a unique environment in Bristol’s Harbourside where
designers, artists and engineers share expertise to produce new
experiences for media audiences.
We are interested in supporting doctoral research which addresses the
practices and social meanings of emerging media. The Centre’s current
research priorities are interactive, participatory, pervasive and
locative media and themes of digital citizenship, co-creation, value,
games and the “Playable City”.
