   Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

   This full time post is available from 1 September 2012, and will be
   offered on a permanent contract.

The Department of Culture, Film and Media at the University of Nottingham seeks to appoint an outstanding scholar in the field of Critical Theory and Cultural Studies. The successful candidate will be expected to carry out a range of teaching and administrative duties, including teaching on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes within the Department and the School. In particular, the successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery of MA programmes in Critical Theory and Cultural Studies and make a contribution to the delivery of the BA (Hons) International Media and Communications Studies. They will play a key role in developing the research profile of the Centre for Critical Theory. Scholars specialising in any area of critical theory and cultural studies are encouraged to apply, but we especially encourage applications from those whose research expertise promises to enhance and consolidate existing research strengths in the Centre, the Department and the School: critical approaches to network cultures, histories/theories of everyday life, the politics of wellbeing, and sensory cultures.

Candidates should ideally be an international research leader with an exceptional track record of publication. They should have a PhD, or equivalent in critical theory/cultural studies or a related field and have previous experience of teaching in critical theory/cultural studies. A proven track record of research dissemination (research papers, publications) appropriate to stage of career is also an essential requirement for this role.
