DOCTORAL/POST-DOC POSITION, U OF MUNICH

The Institute of Communication Studies and Media Research, University of
Munich seeks an excellent and committed young scholar to fill a 60-100%
position as research associate (“Wissenschaflicher Mitarbeiter”) beginning
in October 2011. The successful candidate will be employed on a three-year
contract with an option for another two years.

The position comes with teaching and administrative responsibilities. As
part of his/her duties, the successful candidate will manage the editorial
office of Communication Theory under the editorship of Prof. Dr. Thomas
Hanitzsch. In additon, research associates are expected to maintain their
own research agenda, for which the Institute of Communication Studies and
Media Research provides a stimulating and conducive environment.

Candidates should hold an excellent university degree in Communication or
Media Studies (MA or equivalent), and they should be interested in and
have a fairly thorough knowledge of communication theories. Exellent
proficiency in English and fluent German are essential prerequisites.
