Assistant Professor Gender Studies

Butler University invites applications for a tenure-track, assistant professor of Gender Studies to begin Fall 2010. Successful candidates should be prepared to teach a range of upper- and lower- division courses, including: an introductory course on gender/women's/sexuality studies, feminist and queer theory, U.S. social movements, and courses in the University's Core curriculum. Research and teaching interests should be in one or more of the following areas: transexuality, queer race, third wave feminism, or transnational feminism. In their application materials, candidates should demonstrate a commitment to cultural diversity and feminism. Ph.D. preferred; ABD considered. Special consideration given to those with a WS/GS terminal degree or WS/GS certificate. Teaching load is 3-3.
