[ecrea] Two PhD positions at Wageningen University

Mon Mar 02 18:51:33 GMT 2009

Two open PhD positions in Communication Strategies / Communication & Innovation Studies

The research groups 'Communication Strategies' and 'Communication & Innovation Studies' conduct research on the role of communication in individual and collective change processes in four life science domains: 1) food and health, 3) nature, water and environment, 3) agriculture and land-use and 4) international development. We invite ambitious MSc and MA graduates to submit self-developed proposals for PhD research. Our joint research programme 'Communication and Space for Change' offers considerable room for pursuing your own research interest. We ask you to position your research in this programme, or propose a relevant addition to it. Two candidates will be selected to carry out their research as members of the Communication Science Department at Wageningen University in the Netherlands.

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

- a (nearly) completed MSc or MA degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. communication science, social psychology, innovation studies, sociology, anthropology, language studies, organisation studies, etc.);
- motivation to do academic research with an orientation to society;
- capacity to carry out high quality social science research, in a relatively independent manner;
- excellent writing capabilities;
- good social and communicative skills.
