Spanish cinema has been shaped by new dynamics and old inertia, and 
after a quarter of a century, it seems an ideal time to reflect on them, 
taking the years 2011 to 2022 as a framework. This is the period 
analysed in the research project /New Narratives, Screens and Social 
Realities in Spanish Cinema from 2011 to 2022/, which is organising this 
conference.

We invite contributions from those interested in the following topics:  

I. Spanish cinema Canon.

II. Older people and studies of aging.

III. Women and gender perspective.

IV. Crisis, violence and political activism in Spanish Cinema.

V. New Storytelling techniques and hybridisations.

VI. Ruralisation in Spanish cinema.

VII. the representation of otherness.

Abstracts must be submitted using the tool available on the event website at

Full abstract must include: title, abstract, brief CV and personal 
details (full name, institution, email and postal address, mobile phone).

Abstracts must be no longer than 1,000 words and CVs no longer than 500 
words. The author must clearly indicate the most relevant aspects of the 
topic to be addressed in the abstract, as well as the main innovations 
of the proposal.

Submission deadline: April 2, 2026. We will accept submissions up to
midnight in the proponent’s time zone.
