[Commlist] Autoethnography July 2026 Course

Aaron Hoy is excited to share that registration is now open for 
*Narrating Self & Society, a* *4-week online certificate course on 
autoethnography* Aaron will be leading this July through Minnesota State 
University, Mankato. This is the second time they’re offering the 
course; last summer’s cohort brought together an incredible mix of 
scholars and practitioners for an experience that was deeply rewarding.

Autoethnography invites us to use our own lived experiences as a lens 
for understanding culture and society. It’s rigorous, creative, and 
often transformative. In this course, we’ll explore the method’s 
history, ethics, and possibilities, and you’ll have the chance to begin 
(or continue) crafting autoethnographic work of your own in a supportive 
community. Those who complete the course will also be invited to share 
their work at our *Fall Autoethnography Symposium*, a vibrant event many 
of you attended or heard about last year.

  * *Dates:* July 6–31, 2026
  * *Format:* Online asynchronous content, plus weekly Zoom meetings
  *
    *Meeting Times:* Wednesdays, 3:00–4:30 PM US Central (First meeting
    is July 8)
