[Commlist] Tecmerin: Revista de Ensayos Audiovisuales (English & Spanish) online and new CFP

The first issue of "Tecmerin: Revista de Ensayos Audiovisuales / 
Tecmerin: Journal of Audiovisual Essays" has been published. It features 
the works of Enrique Fibla, Luis Lechosa, Arturo Rodríguez Bornaetxea 
and Daniel David Muñoz.

It contains a video essay and a text (Spanish and English) for each of them.

In addition, the new CFP with a deadline of *May 30th *is online. Please 
see below the CFP in both English and Spanish.

/Tecmerin. Journal of Audiovisual Essays/ is a biannual, peer-reviewed 
journal that attempts to fill an inexistent space within the research 
fields of Communication and Popular Culture, creating an exchange 
platform for researchers, audiovisual creators and teachers.

In the last years, researchers from different fields have turned towards 
audiovisual creation as part of their scientific output, beyond writing 
academic articles or books. In the contemporary digital era, it seems 
increasingly appropriate and relevant to utilize audiovisual language as 
a communication tool with the scientific community and wider audiences. 
Consequently, we are starting /Tecmerin/, trying to create an analytical 
forum that is suitable for novel formats in terms of research and 
audiovisual creation.

/Tecmerin. Journal of Audiovisual Essays /focuses on Spanish and Latin 
American cultural production, although not exclusively.  Researchers and 
creators may send their videos to one of these two sections:

 1. *Video-Essays:*  audiovisual essays that offer a critical take on
    diverse aspects of cinema, television and popular culture.
 2. *Creators*:  experimental or documentary pieces that approach a
    specific cultural topic.

Video-Essays must be uploaded on *VIMEO, as private (please make sure 
that the vimeo channel does not contain your name either)*. Each author 
will send the following information to the following email 
*(tecmerinrevista /at/ uc3m.es) <mailto:(tecmerinrevista /at/ uc3m.es)>*:

 1. Vimeo url address
 2. Username and password for video
 3. 400-600 word text, presenting the video in pdf format.

La revista /Tecmerin: Revista de Ensayos Audiovisuales/ es una 
publicación semestral, con revisión por pares, que intenta ocupar un 
espacio inexistente en el los ámbitos de la Comunicación y la Cultura 
Popular, creando un foro de intercambio inédito para investigadores y 
docentes./ Tecmerin: Revista de Ensayos Audiovisuales/ se enmarca en las 
actividades del grupo de investigación Tecmerin (Televisión, Cine, 
Memoria, Representación e Industria) de la Universidad Carlos III de 
Madrid (Departamento de Periodismo y Comunicación Audiovisual).

En los últimos años los investigadores de los ámbitos de la Comunicación 
y la Cultura Popular están orientando su producción científica, no solo 
a la escritura de volúmenes críticos y ensayos académicos, sino también 
a la creación audiovisual con el fin de proponer un acercamiento 
diferente a sus objetos de estudio. En la actual coyuntura digital, 
parece cada vez más pertinente utilizar el lenguaje audiovisual como 
mecanismo de comunicación con la comunidad científica y el público más 
amplio. Por tanto, lanzamos esta revista audiovisual con el fin de crear 
un foro de intercambio analítico que responda a nuevas necesidades de 
investigación y creación audiovisual.

/Tecmerin: Revista de Ensayos Audiovisuales /se centra en la producción 
cultural de España y Latinoamérica, aunque no de manera exclusiva. Por 
consiguiente, y de una manera amplia, se invita a mandar propuestas 
focalizadas en la producción, consumo, circulación e intercambio 
cultural en estas áreas geográficas. Los investigadores y creadores 
audiovisuales pueden mandar sus propuestas a una de estas dos secciones:

  * *Vídeo-Ensayos:* ensayos audiovisuales que proporcionen una visión
    crítica sobre aspectos del cine, la televisión o la cultura popular
    de manera más amplia.

  * *Creadores*: propuestas de cariz experimental o documental que se
    aproximan a un ámbito cultural específico.

Los vídeo-ensayos deberán subirse a *VIMEO en formato privado 
(asegúrense que el canal de vimeo tampoco contiene su nombre)*. Cada 
autor/a mandará lo siguiente información a este email 
(tecmerinrevista /at/ uc3m.es) <mailto:(tecmerinrevista /at/ uc3m.es)>:

 1. Url del vídeo.
 2. Contraseña del vídeo.
 3. Texto de presentación del vídeo de 400-600 palabras.

*La fecha de envío límite es el 30 de mayo del 2019.*
