[Commlist] New Open Access Issue: ‘BeatlesFutures’ in The Journal of Beatles Studies
Wed Jul 01 10:18:05 GMT 2026
Liverpool University Press is pleased to inform you of the latest open
access issue of /THE JOURNAL OF BEATLES
STUDIES/<https://www.liverpooluniversitypress.co.uk/journal/jbs>.
Published in association with the University of
Liverpool<https://www.liverpool.ac.uk/arts/>, the journal is the first
to establish The Beatles as an object of academic research, and
publishes original, rigorously researched essays and notes, as well as
book and media reviews.
This new issue, themed *‘Beatles futures’, examines the band’s
historical moment, creative practice, and enduring cultural
significance*. Articles explore Italian adaptations of Beatles songs
(1963–70), quantitative analyses of /Beatles Book Monthly/ and evolving
fandom, and a pastoral reading of /Abbey Road/’s side B as a journey of
departure, experience, and return. The issue also includes creative
reflections, poetry, and reviews of recent scholarship on
Lennon–McCartney, vocal expression, and teaching resources.
