Call for Panelists: Feminism and Food Media (Society for Cinema and
Media Studies, Chicago, March ’26)
Contact: Diana Willis / SUNY Oneonta, (diana.willis /at/ oneonta.edu)
<mailto:(diana.willis /at/ oneonta.edu)>
Diana Willis is seeking three panelists to join them on a food media
panel for the Society for Cinema and Media Studies (SCMS) annual
conference (Chicago, March 26 – March 29, 2026).
This panel will explore the intersection of feminist politics and food
media. As food media’s popularity continues to grow, so do the
expectations and contestations of gender, from the kitchen to gendered
ideas of health and wellness shared on social media. This panel aims to
be a space for reflection and debate dedicated to gender studies,
feminist theories, and intersectionality in food media.
