Postdoctoral Researcher in Extended Reality and Accessible Design
Applications are now invited for the role of #002711 Postdoctoral Researcher in Extended Reality and Accessible Design, 12 month fixed term contract

Background & Role
Insight Centre at Dublin City University is seeking to recruit a Postdoctoral Researcher for a one-year term to work on research into accessible user experience design in extended reality, with a specific focus on neurodiversity-friendly XR applications. The term of employment may be extended based on performance and funding. The role is based at the School of Communications under the supervision of Dr Kata Szita, Assistant Professor in Multimedia.

The role provides a unique opportunity to contribute to inclusivity and accessibility in virtual, augmented, and mixed-reality use by analysing existing and designing new applications and assessing user experiences and behaviours. It also involves professional development opportunities to gain experience in independent research management and dissemination, funding, and teaching. These contribute to assembling a portfolio of skills and achievements to prepare for academic positions or industry-based scientific roles.

The successful candidate will, under the direction of the principal investigator, conduct research with internal and external collaborators, disseminate findings to various stakeholders in the form of journal and conference papers, presentations, and public engagement events, and help developing funding proposals.

Salary Scale
IUA Postdoctoral Researcher Salary Scale: €44,347–€56,764
Appointment will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and in line with current Government pay policy.
