You are invited to attend the hybrid Dance Research Matters Network
Programme mid-point event on the theme of ‘Making dance research legible’.
The event will be held on Tuesday 10th September 2024 from 10am to 4.20pm.
The free-of-charge in-person event will take place at St Mary’s
Guildhall, Coventry. You are also welcome to attend free-of-charge
online (unlimited numbers). Online attendees will be sent a link to join
closer to the day.

The event features a live provocation titled UNBOXED by Linden Dance
Company. The provocation takes place in The Great Hall at St Mary’s
Guildhall at approximately 10.15am and is followed by a brief Q and A.
The keynote is offered by Professor Kate Elswit (Professor of
Performance and Technology, Royal Central School of Speech and Drama).
A panel discussion on the topic of ‘‘How do HE dance education and dance
research provide vital skills for the Creative Industries?’ in the
afternoon from 2.30pm onwards comprises Professor Angela Pickard (First
Professor of Dance Education), Professor Michela Vecchi (Professor of
Economics), and Assistant Professor Kate Marsh (Dance, Disability, and
Leadership).
Professor Vicky Hunter will lead a session imagining new funding
approaches that offer up cooperative and collective modes of researching
starting at 3.25pm onwards.
