St Andrews Centre for Screen Cultures: Playlists/ Announcement and
Call for Playlists
With the usual apologies for cross-posting:
Although plans for campus reopening have taken up a lot of time (who
knew? oh yes, everyone) I wanted to assure you all that the Playlist
initiative is only delayed, not done. There are some fabulous
playlists in various states of preparation, and I reiterate my *Call
for Playlists*.
In the meanwhile, I will offer some reminders of what these are and
the topics we cover. They might provide some inspiration for your
students in quarantine or classes in preparation.
In honour of MUBI's release of Naomi Kawase's /The Mourning Forest
/(2007) <https://mubi.com/films/the-mourning-forest>, I would like to
remind you of Dina Iordanova's list Women and Documentary: Naomi
Kawase Online

And in keeping with my mood, I offer up my own playlist *Embodying
Capitalism and Its Abuses
<https://screenculture.wp.st-andrews.ac.uk/2020/03/27/themed-playlist-embodying-capitalism-and-its-abuses/>*,
which offers films that render visible and visceral the abuses of
seemingly neutral financial systems and decisions.
